Fire Drill · Operations & safety

Every child accounted for,
not just counted.

Fire Drill alerts every teacher the moment an evacuation starts and gives each one a roll call for the class they're standing with, already filled in from the first-period register.

Runs on top of Timetable & Attendance, so switch that on too.

The office sees which groups are still out, in real time.

A clipboard is not an evacuation plan.

  1. Today · 01

    Registers that stay indoors

The paper register is on the teacher's desk, or it's a printout from last week. The roll call on the field starts from memory.

  2. Today · 02

    Nobody knows who hasn't reported

The office runs from line to line asking "are you all here?" while the fire service waits for one answer.

  3. Today · 03

    No record afterwards

The inspection asks how long your last drill took to account for everyone. The honest answer is a guess.

One board, one answer: is everyone out?

  1. The right list in every hand

Each teacher's roll call is pre-filled with the pupils marked present at first period — including the ones who arrived late.

  2. The office sees the gaps live

Groups turn green as they report. The one class or visitor still missing is the only thing left on screen.

  3. A report the inspector will accept

Every drill is timed and logged, with who was marked safe or missing and when. Export it as a CSV incident report.

What happens when someone presses start.

  1. 01

Start a drill or a real evacuation

A fire marshal presses one button. Drills and real evacuations are recorded separately, so practice never muddies the real history.

  2. 02

    Every teacher is alerted

A banner and siren in the web app, a push notification in the FirstDay mobile app, and an email — all at once.

  3. 03

    Teachers mark their class safe

Each teacher opens the roll call for the class they're with, taps anyone not present, and submits. "All safe" is one tap.

    Pre-filled from the first-period register.
  4. 04

Close it and keep the record

When every group has reported, end the drill. Time-to-full-account lands on the dashboard and in the incident report.

Questions about
Fire Drill.

Why does Fire Drill need Timetable & Attendance?

The roll call is only as good as the list it starts from. Fire Drill uses the lessons happening right now and this morning's first-period register, which come from Timetable & Attendance.

Can our alarm panel start it automatically?

Not today. A person starts every drill or evacuation from the app, which keeps a human in the loop and avoids false alarms reaching every teacher.

What if a teacher doesn't have the app?

The alert also goes by email and appears in the web app, and a fire marshal can account for any class from the live board.

Are visitors and contractors included?

Yes, if you also use Visitor Management. Everyone checked in when the drill starts appears as a Visitors group on the same board.

Is the price per pupil?

No. Fire Drill is one flat monthly price per school, whatever your headcount.

Every child accounted for, not just counted.

Start with FirstDay, switch on Fire Drill, and have it running this week.
